Currently our programming focuses on the following;
ZNCWC advancing child rights since 1968
ZNCWC was established in 1968 in response to the growing number of children who were living in difficult circumstances. ZNCWC is the umbrella body for the child rights sector which coordinates the Child Rights Coalition in Zimbabwe. Its major thrust is lobbying and advocacy, capacity building of membership, quality assurance on child-oriented initiatives, child participation and research.
Our Mission is “To be the coordinating body of the Child Rights sector in Zimbabwe through advocacy, research and innovative membership driven approaches for effective child development and programming.”
ZNCWC, COORDINATING EFFORTS IN
THE CHILD RIGHTS SECTOR IN ZIMBABWE
ZNCWC has strong relations with the government through, among other things, its seat in the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission Technical Working Group on Children as well as on the PVO Board. In the districts that we work in, the organization strongly compliments local authorities and relevant line ministries work. ZNCWC is also a member of Ending the Sexual Exploitation of Children, Child Rights Network of Southern Africa (CRNSA), International Council of Social Workers and has Observer Status at the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.
